Jennifer parker, ED.d.
author

Jennifer has authored award winning books, as well as blogs, magazine, and journal articles. She has several research interests, including information and AI literacy, instructional coaching, educational leadership, instructional design that integrates UDL, and using technology for teaching and learning. She has authored hundreds of courses and websites, and contributed Open Education Resources to many well known consortiums.

Jennifer began authoring books in 2010 with the first of three editions of the "Data Reference Points for the Michigan School Improvement Process (Data Profile)" (Asaro & Parker, 2010, 2012, 2013). Her first Solution Tree title, “Making the Move with EdTech: 10 Strategies to Scale Up Your In-Person, Hybrid, and Remote Learning”  (Hicks, Parker, Grunow, 2023), earned the Independent Book Publishers Association Benjamin Franklin Silver Award.  Her new book, due in Spring of 2026 from Solution Tree, is focused on instructional coaching and titled  “The Coach’s Compass: Navigating Tiered Coaching in a PLC at Work” (Thomas & Parker, 2026)

Dr. Parker co-created the TCPI Model, which organizes technology use into purposeful categories, and developed the FLUF(F) Test for GenAI critical evaluation and prompt writing. She also examines adult learning theory in the generative AI era and co-developed the EMP Model, a framework for fostering emerging, mentee, and peer learning through an andragogical lens. Her contributions to adult learning, educational technology, and instructional coaching are widely recognized in academic circles.

The FLUF(F) Test is a framework that helps AI users improve their GenAI interactions with better prompts (input) and thoughtful critique (output).  The templates have proven successful in building AI literacy, and is included in the TRAIL OER repository.
